I Can Speak French is a monthly audio training subscription by SnapEnglish for English speakers who want to speak natural, everyday French. Each month: 25 authentic French expressions to listen to, record in your own voice, and play back — the Echo Bounce loop — until they come out naturally.
Most French you've learned sounds like French — but not like the French people actually speak. "Je voudrais un café" gets the point across; "Un café, s'il vous plaît" is what you say at a counter. The gap between textbook French and natural French isn't vocabulary — it's the expressions, the rhythm, and the sounds you've never been asked to produce yourself.

The method
Echo Bounce — listen, record, play back
Created by Caroline Cousin and used in Sound Less French (the mirror product for French speakers learning English), Echo Bounce is built on one insight: you can't hear your own accent while you're speaking. Your brain is too busy building the sentence. The moment you play back a recording, it becomes an listener — and it hears everything.
Hear an authentic French expression recorded by a native speaker — with its natural rhythm, intonation, and connected speech. Not isolated words: a full phrase, the way it's said in real life.
Say it out loud and record. Short phrase, full attention. This is the step most learners skip — and the one that makes all the difference.
Listen to yourself, then re-listen to the native model. You'll hear the gap without anyone pointing it out — and that self-diagnosed correction is what makes it stick. Repeat until the gap closes.
Twenty minutes of Echo Bounce is worth hours of passive listening. Listening trains your comprehension. Echo Bounce trains your mouth.

I created Sound Less French — monthly audio training for French professionals who want to lose their accent in English — and I Can Speak French is the mirror: the same Echo Bounce method, built for the other direction.
In 25 years of classes, I've heard every calque both ways. "Je suis 25 ans" for "I am 25." "I have hurry" for "j'ai hâte." The patterns are perfectly symmetrical — and so is the solution.

Echo Bounce is the audio training method developed by Caroline Cousin: listen to an authentic expression from a native speaker, record yourself saying it, then play your recording back and compare. The playback is what makes it work — your brain can't hear your own accent while you're speaking, but it hears everything on replay. Repeat three to five times per expression until the gap closes.
